Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment to Accessibility Hawaii Island Community Health Center is dedicated to providing digital accessibility for everyone, including individuals with disabilities. We are continuously working to enhance the user experience for all and adhere to the relevant accessibility standards.

Our goal is to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, as established by the World Wide Web Consortium.

Measures to Support Accessibility

We take the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website:

  • Integrate accessibility into our design and development processes
  • Conduct regular accessibility audits and testing
  • Provide ongoing training for content editors and developers
  • Include accessibility as part of our procurement and vendor selection

Conformance Status

Our website is designed to be compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. While we strive to maintain full compliance, some areas of the website may not always meet the highest accessibility standards as guidelines are revised and technological tools change. We will continuously work to identify and address these areas using audit and tracking tools.

Accessibility Features

Our website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigable interface
  • Clear and consistent navigation
  • Alternative text for images
  • Sufficient color contrast for readability
  • Resizable text and responsive layouts
  • Accessible forms with labels and error messaging

We may also provide an accessibility assistance tool (widget) to enhance user experience. This tool is intended to supplement, not replace, accessibility built into the website.

Third-Party Content

Some pages may contain third-party content or integrations (such as scheduling tools or embedded maps) that are not fully under our control. While we strive to ensure accessibility, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content. We encourage vendors to meet accessibility standards.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter accessibility barriers or need assistance, please contact us:

  • Mailing Address:
    • C/O Patient Experience Manager
