In addition to his role at Hawai’i Island Community Health Center, Dr. Khozaim is an Associate Professor at the University of Hawai’i John A. Burns School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health. Through this collaborative role, he provides care at our health center as well as Hilo Community Surgery Center and Hilo Medical Center. This working relationship ensures that HICHC patients receiving women’s health care from Dr. Khozaim are able to schedule procedures and surgeries with Dr. Khozaim to be performed at local surgical facilities.
Dr. Khozaim is passionate about Gynecological surgery and was the first doctor on Hawai’i Island to attain the “Focused Practice Designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery” from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. His goal is to use the fewest and smallest possible incisions, reducing recovery time and minimizing complications.
Practice Philosophy:
I hope that our work in Women’s Health can promote gender equality and redress the centuries of discrimination that have face women in our country.
Outside of the Clinic:
I enjoy amateur gardening, tennis, tango, good movies and international news/affairs.
